The Waqf (Amendment) Bill has now become a law after President of India Draupadi Murmu approval

News Breathe. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill has now become a law. Last evening, President Draupadi Murmu approved the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The government has issued a gazette notification regarding the new law. Now the central government will issue a separate notification regarding the date of implementation of the new law. The Waqf Bill (now law) is still being opposed by a particular community. In this regard, Congress MP Mohammad Javed, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi and AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan have challenged it in separate petitions in the Supreme Court. The petitions allege discrimination against the Muslim community and violation of the fundamental rights of Muslims. On the other hand, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has also issued an official letter and expressed opposition to the law. At present the matter is in court but the implementation of the law is certain. It can be fully implemented after the Bihar assembly elections.
